Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Dump the undrained pineapple into a greased 9 x 13 inch baking pan. Dump the cherry pie filling on top of the pineapple and the yellow cake mix on top of the cherry filling. Spread the nuts on top, with eight pats of butter placed on top of the nuts. Do not mix anything at any time! Bake uncovered for 50 minutes. Let cool and serve.
